Vignobles André Lurton President

Passion… Winegrowers

Born in 1924 into a family of winegrowers from the Entre-deux-Mers region, André Lurton became one of the most ardent defenders of Bordeaux wines, especially the Graves. For over fifty years, this lover of fine wine has poured his heart and soul into the Bordeaux vineyards!

A pioneer of progress, he worked towards the creation of the Pessac-Léognan appellation in 1987 (the latest addition to the Bordeaux appellations) and also saved Château Couhins-Lurton from disappearing in 1967.

His relentless efforts to preserve the great terroirs of the Graves and Entre-deux-Mers region serve as a testimony to his immense dedication to the Bordeaux wine region.

Pascal Le Faucheur

Vignobles André Lurton General Director
Sales Director

Passion… Wisdom

A man of the world, Pascal Le Faucheur worked at the Crédit Agricole for over 25 years before joining Vignobles André Lurton in 2008. As the group’s managing director, his main mission is to ensure the future of this prestigious family firm while enhancing its development. Aware of the value of Châteaux Couhins-Lurton and La Louvière, he quickly sensed the need to implement strong quality-oriented measures and promoted the creation of the Grand Cru Division in 2012.

Pascal Le Faucheur was thus able to combine his wisdom, acquired over years of working in finance, with his passion for viticulture.

Christine Lurton-de Caix

Manager in charge of Communication for Great Wines

Passion… Transmission

As the daughter of André Lurton, Christine naturally inherited her father’s love of fine wine and consequently followed in his viticultural footsteps… She joined the family firm in September 2014 and was appointed Ambassador of Châteaux Couhins-Lurton and La Louvière at the newly-created Grands Crus Division. She now represents Château Couhins-Lurton in France and abroad, participating, in particular, in promotional trips organised by the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, the Union des Crus Classés de Graves, and the Conseil des Vins de Graves.

Christine will tell you enthusiastically, “There’s something magical about making great wine”. She has the same passion for the world of wine as her family, and is very motivated to share it with others. Good breeding always shows through!

Vincent Cruège

Les Vignobles André Lurton Winemaking Director / Director of External Relations

Passion… Emotion

As the son of one of the first women to graduate in oenology in Bordeaux, it was only natural that Vincent Cruège became a winemaker – you could say it was part of his DNA. He spent his first years working in the field at Château La Louvière, another prestigious estate in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Here he put the knowledge and skills acquired as a student of the famous white wine expert, Denis Dubourdieu into practice, particularly with regard to Sauvignon Blanc dry white wines. In December 2013, Vincent Cruège was appointed Head Winemaker at Vignobles André Lurton.

Thanks to his informed decisions, this creator of wine emotions, supported by the entire Château Couhins-Lurton team, produces fine, elegant and sensual wines for each vintage which perfectly express their outstanding terroir, while guaranteeing instant pleasure.

Sébastien Ravilly

Vineyard manager & Cellarmaster of Château Couhins-Lurton

Passion… Tradition and Innovation

Originally from Brittany, Sébastien Ravilly was first introduced to fine French wines by his father and went into winemaking with the same fervour as one takes up a religious vocation. This devoted wine lover put all his expertise into practice at Château de Barbe Blanche, in the Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation, from the 2000 vintage onwards.

Since May 2017, Sébastien has been in charge of vineyard management at Château Couhins-Lurton, where he was also appointed cellarmaster. Sébastien’s favourite saying is: “There is no such thing as a great wine without great grapes”. He helps keep the soul of this Graves great growth alive with a subtle combination of ancient traditions and the latest innovative techniques, while respecting the truly outstanding terroir.
